I couldn't decide whether to call this piece 'Ragatina' or 'Ragamuffin' but either way it remains as a nice memorable A-B-A ragtime (ternary form) composition having fewer sections than a traditional rag (hence I coined the term 'Ragatina' of which I have now written a few examples of this form).
Play exactly as written with good accents and slurring (not slurrying).
Again, the strong percussive style highlighted in the middle section features in a number of my ragtime tunes (not sure why though). |
